Hello from the mountains of western North Carolina! Since you've found your way to my little place on the web, I figured I'd better tell you a little more about myself. I am a teacher, both by nature and by trade. It's a role I've occupied for most of my life. As the oldest of 5 girls, I think I naturally fell into a teaching type role so when it came time to choose a career, being a teacher was a perfect fit. I currently teach middle school science and absolutely love what I do. Most people think I'm crazy, and they're probably right, but I find a great deal of joy in working with young adolescents. A few years ago, my husband and I made the decision that we needed to get out of suburbia so when we were presented with the opportunity to move to a country home in the mountains, we jumped on it. Now, we live on a 2 acre homestead nestled deep in the Appalachian mountains and find ourselves happier than ever. We have all kinds of hopes and aspirations and we hope you'll join us as we share our adventures in raising livestock, gardening, and learning new skills at this little homestead in the woods.
